I have performed a pre-study investigating different solutions for a hybrid power plant (hydro power units together with a battery energy storatge system) providing FCR services.
The background is that Uniper will install a 24MW/48MWh BESS in Moforsen and would like to know the optimal way to combine the hydro power plants with the installed BESS.
In previous BESS projects, the FCR services have been implemented totally in the BESS, and the hydro power plants have only been used for maintaining state of charge (SOC) and to extend the endurance.
